Continuity and the Coherent Self
The preceding chapters have examined crisis, responsibility, commitment, and suffering as distinct psychological experiences. Yet lived experience does not present them in isolation. Over time, these elements converge, shaping the individual’s sense of self. Integration refers to this convergence, the process by which disparate experiences are gathered into a coherent whole capable of enduring change without fragmentation.
